Managed IT services
We monitor, manage, support and secure your IT systems and users under one agreement, for a fixed and predictable monthly fee.
Halifax organizations work on Atlantic time and often with public-sector partners whose privacy rules are strict. We support and secure their technology remotely, around the clock for managed-service clients.
Halifax is Atlantic Canada's largest city and its main commercial centre. The port handles container and cargo traffic year-round, the Royal Canadian Navy's Atlantic fleet is based there, and the city has built a strong ocean technology cluster around research, marine services and defence supply. Provincial government, several universities including Dalhousie and Saint Mary's, health care, tourism and a wide range of professional firms make up much of the rest of the economy.
We see the same IT pressures across those sectors:
Managed IT services give you one accountable team for help desk, monitoring, patching, device management and vendor coordination, with 24/7 help desk access for managed-service clients.
Cybersecurity services combine multi-factor authentication, endpoint detection, email security and logging, and security awareness training gives staff short, regular practice at spotting phishing and fraud. Privacy and compliance readiness work helps you document controls and data locations for public-sector contracts, insurers and customer security reviews.
For operations, Prometheus ERP brings finance, purchasing, inventory, projects and HR into one system, and our software development team builds the portals, integrations and tools that off-the-shelf products do not cover.
We deliver support remotely. Staff reach the help desk by phone, email or ticket, and we manage devices, servers and cloud services through secure remote tools. Halifax runs on Atlantic Time, an hour ahead of Eastern, which makes no difference to managed-service clients, who have 24/7 access. We time maintenance and changes around your working day, not ours.
On-site work in Halifax and the surrounding area is arranged case by case. If a project needs someone on site, for example a network refresh or an office move, we agree the arrangements in advance and record them in your service agreement, along with the response target for each priority level.
We describe these obligations to help you plan. They are general information, not legal advice.
A good first step is a review of your devices, accounts, backups, security controls and where each system stores its data. You get a plain list of risks in priority order, a note of any data location issues that could affect public-sector work, and an estimate in Canadian dollars for fixing them and for ongoing support.
Many Halifax organizations begin with the controls customers ask about first: multi-factor authentication, endpoint detection, tested backups and staff training. Once those are in place and documented, larger work, such as moving to Canadian cloud regions or replacing disconnected tools with Prometheus, is planned in stages so daily work carries on without disruption. You see the plan, the order of work and the estimate before anything starts, and you decide the pace. Documentation of your network, accounts and vendors stays with you throughout.

Yes. Halifax is one hour ahead of Eastern Time, and managed-service clients have 24/7 help desk access, so staff can get help whenever they are working. Maintenance is scheduled around your Atlantic working hours.
Nova Scotia's Personal Information International Disclosure Protection Act (PIIDPA) restricts public bodies, municipalities and their service providers from storing or accessing personal information outside Canada, with limited exceptions. If you provide services to them, it can decide which cloud services and support arrangements you may use. This is general information, not legal advice.
Most private businesses in Nova Scotia follow the federal PIPEDA. Health information held by custodians falls under Nova Scotia's Personal Health Information Act (PHIA).
Most of our work is remote. On-site visits in the Halifax area are arranged case by case and agreed in your service agreement before they are needed.
How to design security awareness training that people remember and act on, with a 12-month plan, fair phishing simulations and measures that matter.
The four PIPEDA breach obligations, how the real risk of significant harm test works, and a response sequence and record template to prepare in advance.
What to define before you talk to managed IT providers, the questions that separate them, and a checklist for comparing proposals.
Share what you run, who you work with and what needs to change. We will suggest a sensible first step.
