Prometheus ERP deployment for Ejemen Diagnostic and Ambulatory Center (Nigeria)

Ejemen Diagnostic and Ambulatory Center provides laboratory tests, imaging and outpatient care in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Promatics deployed Prometheus, our ERP built on ERPNext, to support the centre's operations.

The challenge

Ejemen Diagnostic and Ambulatory Center is a diagnostics and outpatient clinic in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. It offers laboratory testing, imaging, outpatient consultations and related services.

A diagnostic and ambulatory centre combines clinical workflow with a business that has to be run well:

  • Patient flow. Registration, appointments, consultations and follow-up, with each visit linked to the right patient record.
  • Laboratory workflow. From sample collection through testing to results, with a clear record of what was requested, done and reported.
  • Billing. Charges for tests, imaging and consultations raised accurately and collected, whether patients pay directly or through a third party.
  • Supplies. Reagents and consumables bought, stored and tracked, often by batch and expiry.
  • The back office. Accounting, staff administration and purchasing.

When clinical records, billing and stock live in separate tools, the same patient and service details are entered more than once, and errors appear in the gaps.

What we implemented

Promatics deployed Prometheus, our ERP built on the open-source ERPNext platform, for Ejemen Diagnostic and Ambulatory Center.

Prometheus includes a healthcare edition: a web-based, configurable system designed to manage a laboratory's operation and workflow from end to end, from sample collection to diagnosis and patient history. Its healthcare capabilities include:

  • managing patient details;
  • creating appointments and consultations;
  • recording patient encounters;
  • managing assessments, prescriptions and medical coding in one place.

These capabilities sit alongside Prometheus's accounting, purchasing, inventory and human resource functions. This summary records the deployment at the level we can confirm publicly. It does not list every module configured or every process changed.

Results

The project was completed as a Prometheus deployment for Ejemen Diagnostic and Ambulatory Center.

We have not published measured outcomes for this project, and we do not add figures after the fact.

What this means for your organization

Private diagnostic clinics, specialty clinics and community health organizations in Canada face the same need to connect patient-facing workflow with billing, supplies and finance. The approach carries over, with Canadian requirements built in from the start:

  • Health privacy. Personal health information is governed by provincial laws such as Ontario's PHIPA, alongside PIPEDA where it applies. Role-based access, audit trails and careful handling of exports matter as much as features. This is general information, not legal advice.
  • Data residency. Many Canadian health organizations prefer, or are required by contract, to keep data in Canada. Prometheus can run in a Canadian cloud region or on premises.
  • Billing models. Private-pay, insurer and third-party billing each need their own configuration.
  • Integration. Existing electronic medical record, laboratory or imaging systems may stay in place, with the ERP handling finance, stock and administration.
